As an actor David has portrayed a range of characters in notable productions including August Wilson's Radio Golf, Bill Harris' Robert Johnson: Trick the Devil, and Carlyle Brown's The African Company Presents Richard III. David's dedication to his craft has led to accolades, including a prestigious Black Theatre Alliance Award for his outstanding performance in Sam Kelley's Pill Hill.
David Adams is also an accomplished writer. His theater critiques for Buzz Center Stage and other contributions were recognized with a prestigious 3Arts grant, celebrating his impact on the arts community and dedication to fostering a deeper appreciation of theater. David’s directorial journey began at Blanc Gallery with a bold interpretation of Curtis Lawrence’s The Kings are Dead. Coupled with Patric McCoy’s visual art, the production was a captivating fusion of mediums that garnered critical acclaim. David Adams’ substantial contributions to the arts have entertained and inspired countless individuals. He is deeply grateful to Second Site and the DuSable Museum for this opportunity and support.
